A federal judge has officially dismissed a lawsuit against Madonna and Live Nation regarding late concert start times, though the case may have further implications for the plaintiffs.

The dismissal comes after a series of complex legal exchanges. While the plaintiffs initially filed a notice claiming a joint settlement agreement, Live Nation's legal team quickly contested this claim, stating no settlement had been reached.

The court struck down the settlement notice following a telephone conference. Subsequently, the plaintiffs submitted a voluntary dismissal with prejudice, suggesting each party would cover their own legal costs.

However, Live Nation's attorneys have pushed back against this arrangement, arguing that:

  • The dismissal was not the result of any settlement
  • The lawsuit was "frivolous" and designed to force unnecessary legal expenses
  • They reserve the right to pursue sanctions, attorneys' fees, and costs

While the judge has officially dismissed the case, the court has specifically retained the right to impose sanctions. This leaves open the possibility of further legal consequences for the plaintiffs.

A similar lawsuit involving at least one of the same attorneys continues in Washington, D.C., suggesting this may not be the end of legal challenges regarding concert start times.
