Attorney Anthony Ricco has filed a motion to withdraw from Sean "Diddy" Combs' defense team in the ongoing criminal sex-trafficking and racketeering case. The withdrawal request was submitted on February 20, though it requires judicial approval before becoming official.

In the motion, Ricco stated simply that "Under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs." No specific reason was provided, with Ricco noting the brief nature of the request was to protect attorney-client privilege.

The withdrawal comes after consultation with Combs' lead counsel, Marc Agnifilo. Ricco assured that his departure would not delay the May 5 trial date, as Combs still retains five other attorneys.

Combs, 54, faces serious charges including allegations of drugging women and forcing them into sex work. He has pleaded not guilty but remains held without bail since his September arrest following federal raids. If convicted, he faces 15 years to life in prison.

Beyond the criminal case, Combs faces approximately 40 civil lawsuits from individuals alleging drug-facilitated sexual assault. While one recent case involving Jay-Z was withdrawn, numerous others remain active. Combs and his legal team continue to deny all allegations.
