Def Jam Recordings launches its first-ever free, ad-supported TV (FAST) channel to commemorate its 40th anniversary, marking a significant milestone as the first major UMG label to program its own television channel directly for fans.

The channel features comprehensive content including:

  • Music videos
  • Documentaries
  • Live performances
  • Content from legendary artists like LL Cool J, Mariah Carey, John Legend, and DMX

Availability and Access:

  • US viewers: Available on Tubi
  • International viewers: Available on Samsung TV+

The launch includes new music-focused advertising-supported video on demand (AVoD) content from UMG's Mercury Studios, allowing Tubi viewers to access Def Jam artists' content on-demand.

Def Jam Chairman and CEO Tunji Balogun emphasizes the label's commitment to innovation: "Over the last 40 years, Def Jam has consistently led the charge in pioneering new ways for our artists to celebrate their creativity and connect with fans."

The initiative coincides with various 40th-anniversary celebrations, including a special Apple TV show and pop-up events in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, reinforcing Def Jam's position as a pioneer in music industry innovation and fan engagement.
