Daryl Hall has firmly declared that he and John Oates will never perform together again, following their significant falling out in 2023. This announcement comes less than two years after Hall filed a lawsuit against his former musical partner.

The conflict emerged when Oates attempted to sell his stake in their joint publishing company, Whole Oats Enterprises, to Primary Wave Music. Hall responded with legal action, describing it as "the ultimate partnership betrayal" and a "completely clandestine and bad faith move."

In a recent interview with The Times of London, Hall emphasized the finality of their split, stating, "That ship has gone to the bottom of the ocean." He also claimed responsibility for approximately 90% of their hit songs, noting that Oates only wrote the songs featuring his own lead vocals.

Oates defended his actions on Good Morning America, explaining that he wanted to give Hall the opportunity to be his own man and that such catalog sales are common in the industry. He emphasized that they had always viewed themselves as individuals working together rather than a unified entity.

The duo, who have sold over 60 million records and achieved 16 Top 10 singles, always maintained separate identities, releasing music under "Daryl Hall & John Oates" rather than "Hall & Oates."

Hall continues his musical career, having recently collaborated with Dave Stewart of Eurythmics on his sixth solo studio album, "D." His impressive list of past collaborators includes Elvis Costello, Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, and David Bowie.
