Japanese entertainment giant Avex has acquired S10 Music Publishing and launched a new LA-based division, Avex Music Group (AMG), with Brandon Silverstein appointed as CEO.

The acquisition builds upon Avex's strategic investment in S10 Entertainment from last year and includes the complete catalog of S10 Music Publishing. Additionally, Avex has increased its stake in S10 Management, becoming the largest shareholder alongside Silverstein and Roc Nation.

Key Details of the Acquisition:

  • Avex Music Group (AMG) will be based in Los Angeles
  • Brandon Silverstein joins as CEO and board member
  • Existing Avex USA employees will transition to AMG
  • S10's current team and operations remain unchanged
  • S10 Management maintains separate staff under Silverstein's leadership
  • S10 Records continues as an independent label under Silverstein's ownership

Avex CEO Katsumi Kuroiwa stated that this move strengthens their U.S. market presence and positions Avex as a significant force in international music. The partnership with Silverstein, which began in 2020, has now evolved into a more comprehensive business relationship.

The deal represents a significant expansion of Avex's global footprint while maintaining the operational independence of certain S10 divisions. S10 Management will continue its separate operations with Silverstein as CEO, while S10 Records remains an independent entity under his leadership.
