The partnership between these two leading collective management organizations focuses on four key areas:
-
Income Innovation: Implementing new processes to maximize efficiency and reduce costs, ensuring faster and more accurate payments to members.
-
Digital Market Expansion: Building on their successful partnership in Europe, Middle East, and Africa, with plans to extend into Asian markets.
-
AI Task Force Creation: Forming a joint team to address AI challenges and opportunities, focusing on creator protection, fair compensation, and technological advancement.
-
Global Collaboration: Organizing song camps, networking events, and educational programs to foster international creative partnerships.
This alliance builds on previous successful collaborations, including their 2017 ISWC/ISRC linking project and 2022 digital licensing partnership. Both organizations achieved record-breaking financial results in 2023, demonstrating their commitment to supporting music creators in the digital age.
To commemorate this partnership, ASCAP CEO Elizabeth Matthews and Sacem CEO Cécile Rap-Veber hosted a reception in Los Angeles, bringing together top composers from both organizations.
