Apple Unveils Lossless and Low-Latency Audio Support for AirPods Max via USB-C

Apple is bringing lossless audio and ultra-low latency capabilities to AirPods Max headphones through USB-C connectivity, enabling 24-bit 48 kHz lossless audio playback and enhanced music production features.

The firmware update, arriving next month, will allow users to:

The update enables AirPods Max to become the only headphones that allow musicians to both create and mix in Personalized Spatial Audio with head tracking, maintaining high-fidelity audio throughout the professional workflow.

Users can connect their AirPods Max to various 3.5mm audio sources, including airplane audio systems and car stereos, using the USB-C to 3.5mm cable.
