Each episode culminates in a live battle performance judged by a Seoul-based audience, who determines the best "K-popped" song rendition. The series is executive produced by music industry veterans Lionel Richie and Miky Lee, alongside Megan Thee Stallion.
The production team includes accomplished producers:
- Moira Ross and Greg Foster
- Harry H.K. Shin and Jake Hong
- Ki-woong for CJ ENM
- Chris Culvenor, Paul Franklin, Wes Dening, and David Tibballs from Eureka Productions
- Bruce Eskowitz
"KPOPPED" marks Apple TV+'s second unscripted competition show, following "My Kind of Country" (2023), and builds on their K-pop content portfolio, which includes the docuseries "K-Pop Idols" featuring Blackswan, Cravity, and Jessi.
While the premiere date remains unannounced, Megan Thee Stallion is set to perform at the exclusive FanDuel/Spotify Super Bowl party alongside DJ Pee .Wee (Anderson .Paak) and Blink-182, preceding Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl halftime show.
