AEG Presents has revived its lawsuit against Young Thug, seeking information about an alleged $16 million catalog sale, following the rapper's release from jail.

The lawsuit, originally filed in late 2020, centers on exclusive performance agreements from 2016. AEG claims they provided Young Thug's YSL Touring with a $5.25 million advance in 2017 for exclusive worldwide concert promotion rights. However, the rapper allegedly breached these agreements by performing concerts independently and keeping all proceeds.

Key Developments:

  • AEG has requested new pretrial deadlines for 2025, including a February 6th status conference and June 12th discovery cutoff
  • The company is investigating the alleged sale of Young Thug's music catalog, claiming he transferred rights to approximately 400 compositions for $16 million after the lawsuit began
  • AEG has served subpoenas to third parties with a late-November response deadline to identify the current copyright owners
  • The case was temporarily paused during Young Thug's criminal proceedings, which resulted in 15 years' probation and relocation from Georgia

AEG is now evaluating whether to:

  • Proceed against Young Thug regarding the collateral
  • Add more defendants to the lawsuit
  • Take legal action outside the current case

The trial isn't expected to begin until late 2025, assuming no settlement is reached. However, significant developments are anticipated in the coming months as AEG investigates the catalog sale and determines its next legal steps.
