Leading UK music supervision company 45RPM has launched a music publishing division in partnership with Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), marking a significant expansion of their services.

The company, established in 2022 by industry veterans Iain Cooke, Sarah Bridge, Catherine Grieves, and Nick Angel, recently welcomed Ayla Owen as Managing Director. Owen brings valuable experience from her previous roles as Head of Music at BBH London and European VP of Sync at Warner Chappell Music.

45RPM specializes in comprehensive music supervision services, including soundtrack development, composer partnerships, rights negotiation, and budget management. This new publishing venture will focus on supporting composers and songwriters in film, TV, advertising, and gaming.

The UMPG partnership creates a unique dual-expertise model, combining 45RPM's specialized supervision experience with Universal's global resources and industry presence. This collaboration aims to bridge the gap between composing and songwriting, enabling artists to explore both creative paths.

"Through this collaboration, composers and songwriters can access the best of both worlds: specialized attention from seasoned music supervisors and the expansive reach of Universal Music Publishing," says Ayla Owen, Managing Director of 45RPM.

UMPG executives express enthusiasm about the partnership's potential. Natasha Baldwin, EVP of UMPG Classics & Screen, highlights their ability to support both composers and songwriters globally, while Tom Foster, SVP of Film and TV Europe, emphasizes the opportunities for original songs and scores in TV and film productions.
